As a respite support worker with The Oaks, you'll empower individuals with disabilities or other challenges to maintain their independence and engage in community activities during valuable respite periods for caregivers. Your duties may include:

  • Assisting with personal care like bathing, grooming, meals.

  • Administering medications responsibly.

  • Planning fun recreational activities and outings.

  • Being available for emotional support.

  • Assisting with transfers and manual handling

  • Transporting individuals safely.

Skills desirable
- Experience of working in a similar environment, including knowledge of age-appropriate activities and safety protocols
- Proficient in medication administration, including proper dosage calculations and documentation
- Knowledge of manual handling and assist with mobility for patients with limited physical abilities
- Excellent care skills, including empathy, compassion, and patience
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with service users, families, and care professionals
- Ability to follow care plans and instructions
- Experience in meal preparation and knowledge of special dietary requirements

QCF Level 2 Health and Social Care desirable with Social Care Wales Registration but not essential as full training and qualifications will be provided.
